Local know-how

Batteries, Bushland and Beach Works Around Bateau Bay

Ausgrid is planning a 300MWh battery for Berkeley Vale, near the Bateau Bay homes Restore Electrical looks after:

  • Long Jetty Battery

Named in Ausgrid's May 2026 announcement, Bateau Bay locals are eligible to access the savings from its 5MW Long Jetty community battery, whether they rent or own, solar or not.

  • Berkeley Vale Battery

Construction on Ausgrid's Berkeley Vale battery is due to begin in 2028, and Ausgrid says it will store enough energy to power up to 20,250 of its households a day.

  • Wyrrabalong Bushland Edge

Wyrrabalong National Park includes a Bateau Bay Beach picnic area, and Central Coast Council says the NSW RFS has identified many Central Coast properties as bushfire prone, so check yours.

  • Blue Lagoon Stairs

Blue Lagoon's two new stair sets were built from concrete, FRP and stainless steel to withstand erosion and severe weather, and before storm season, consider surge protection for your switchboard.

Warning signs

Warning Signs Your Bateau Bay Wiring Needs Attention

A safety switch cutting out mid-wash is maddening, and it’s one of these signs worth acting on quickly:

  • RCD Keeps Dropping Out

Residual current devices that keep tripping in The Entrance North homes are usually reacting to current leaking to earth, and if unplugging appliances doesn't stop it, call a licensed electrician.

  • Lights Pulsing or Dipping

Pulsing or dipping globes in a Toowoon Bay home whenever the kettle or microwave switches on can point to an overloaded circuit or loose connection, which is worth having tested.

  • Burnt Smell at Switches

A hot plastic smell around a Bateau Bay switch or power point can signal overheating wiring, so turn that circuit's breaker off and leave the fitting to a licensed electrician.

  • Water Damage Near Wiring

Rainwater leaking through a Killarney Vale ceiling after a storm can reach downlights and hidden cabling, and those wet fittings stay off limits until a licensed electrician has checked them.

“Great service communication n work”
Jason A.Google review
“Jason and Paul did my switchboard upgrade which wasn't a straight forward job as I wanted to integrate my new solar battery setup with automatic backup for some circuits with other circuits able to be transferred manually to backup system along with some redundancies. Jason took the time to understand what I was after and provided me with couple of options including keeping the existing box but replacing asbestos backboard and efficient layout which would have just fitted but left minimal space or replacing with larger which would give room for future expansion. I ultimately decided to do the larger box as looks a lot cleaner as then all brand new and wasn't much extra and the outcome is superb with a super clean integrated look, my componentry is laid out in a logical order and segmented in a way I had requested which allows space for various possible expansion to backup circuits, standard circuits or going to 3 phase without needing to move a bunch of components. They also did a range of standard electrical work for me with lights, DC ceiling fan, smart switches, power points using mostly components I supplied (for consistency with others already in the house) and transferring some circuits whilst conducting the level 2 works. Given the large expense I did get a couple of other quotes and while not the cheapest (very little in it though) he was the only one which I had confidence in doing my setup as I had intended. If you need electrical work done (particularly if you have some unique desired outcomes) I can honestly recommend Jason and Paul as they will listen to what you want and provide the option that works with that whilst being compliant instead of making a whole bunch of assumptions which is an issue I have had with other trades in the past.”

“Highly recommended, very professional service at a reasonable price. The technician spent the time to understand my requirements, completed additional research to be able to recommend the product that was best for my unique use case, sourced all of the parts and equipment and was able to fit this work in with short notice and a tight timeframe. Genuinely felt like above and beyond level service. Will definitely be using again in future for any electrical work I have come up around the home.”

Jake L.Google review
“We recently engaged Jason from Restore for a major switchboard upgrade and Level 2 ASP work, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. While his quote wasn't the absolute lowest we received, we chose Jason because of his transparent communication and professional approach. He arrived sharp at 7:30 AM and worked tirelessly through the day to ensure every detail was perfect. The workmanship is truly top-tier—using high-quality Hager components and ensuring the entire system is 'Solar-ready' for our future plans. He was incredibly patient in answering all our technical questions and handled all the compliance paperwork seamlessly. It’s rare to find a licensed professional who is so hands-on and takes such pride in his work. If you are in the Newcastle or Hunter region and need a reliable, high-quality electrician for Level 2 or switchboard jobs, I cannot recommend Jason enough. A stellar service that is worth every cent! Xxx Nate&Amy”

Local Electrician Bateau Bay Frequently Asked Questions

Answers on our Bateau Bay address, community batteries, bushfire rules, three-phase power and late-night faults for local homeowners:

01

Are you actually based in Bateau Bay?

Yes, Bateau Bay is our home suburb and business address, and the family-run team, founded and directed by Jason Rowe, looks after homes on the Central Coast, in Newcastle and through the Hunter Valley.

02

Can my Bateau Bay home use the Long Jetty community battery?

Ausgrid includes Bateau Bay in the battery’s eligible areas, and if you’d like power through blackouts too, we install home batteries with backup circuits that keep essentials such as lighting and refrigeration running.

03

Does bushfire prone land affect building work in Bateau Bay?

It can, because Central Coast Council requires a Bushfire Assessment Report with any development application for habitable structures on bushfire prone land, so factor that into any extension or rebuild plans.

04

Do you cover Killarney Vale, Toowoon Bay and The Entrance North?

All three sit inside our Bateau Bay service area, along with The Entrance and Berkeley Vale, and every home there gets the same free fixed quote and lifetime labour warranty.

05

Can you upgrade a Bateau Bay home to three-phase power?

We can, converting single-phase supply to three-phase for Bateau Bay homes running large air conditioning systems, EV chargers or other high-demand equipment, with final testing and a Certificate of Compliance to finish.

06

Is there an emergency electrician in Bateau Bay overnight?

There is, because our 24/7 emergency service covers Bateau Bay through the night, and you’ll still see a transparent fixed quote before the repair starts, even if you ring at 3am.
