Our services

Home Electrical Services From Hamilton to The Junction

A dead power point or tripping board never picks a convenient day, so here’s what we fix across Newcastle:

  • Electrician scanning a commercial switchboard with a thermal imaging camera

    Fault Finding & Repairs

When a Hamilton home loses a circuit or keeps tripping, our fault finding uses diagnostic equipment to find the exact cause of the fault, then we complete a certified repair.

  • Electrician fitting circuit breakers in an upgraded switchboard

    Switchboard Upgrades

Our switchboard upgrades replace older boards with ceramic fuses or no safety switch, which gives a Cooks Hill home modern circuit protection and room for new circuits down the track.

  • Electrician connecting an EV charger on an outside wall next to a parked electric car

    EV Charger Installation

Before a charger goes live in a Kotara garage, our EV charger installation team runs a dedicated circuit with network-approved wiring, then tests and certifies the setup for first use.

  • Electrician in a safety harness drilling a solar panel clamp on a roof

    Solar & Battery Systems

New Lambton households can pair rooftop panels with a home battery through our solar and battery systems, with backup circuits designed to keep the essentials running during a grid outage.

  • Electrician rewiring a pendant light at the kitchen ceiling

    Lighting & Power Points

Across The Junction and Bar Beach, our lighting installation crew fits LED downlights, outdoor lights and extra USB power points wherever your kitchen, deck or home office needs them most.

Local know-how

Newcastle Rules That Shape Your Electrical Work

June 2007 rain at Nobbys Signal Station reached 4.2 times its June normal, and local rules add their planning steps:

  • Heritage Area Solar

On heritage and contributory buildings in Cooks Hill, The Hill and Newcastle East, council's heritage rules permit visible solar only where there's no feasible alternative, so placement needs settling first.

  • Mine Subsidence Approvals

Where a Newcastle property sits inside a Mine Subsidence District, building or extending needs Subsidence Advisory NSW approval before work starts, and new circuits are best planned alongside that approval.

  • Public EV Charging Network

City of Newcastle is growing its public EV network to 50 ports across 15 locations, including Hamilton and Wickham, while a dedicated circuit in your own garage handles overnight charging.

  • June 2007 Storm Record

Nobbys Signal Station's 495.8 mm in June 2007 broke its 1950 June record of 485.7 mm, making surge protection, safety switches and battery backup worth checking before the next storm.

Warning signs

Warning Signs of an Electrical Fault in Newcastle Homes

Is that flicker or faint buzz just a quirk of the house, or an early fault? Watch for these signs:

  • Safety Switch Keeps Tripping

If a Tighes Hill safety switch trips again straight after one reset, there's a fault in a circuit, an appliance or the switch itself, so unplug everything and call us.

  • Flickering or Dimming Lights

Lights that flicker or dim in a Broadmeadow home when the air conditioner starts can mean a loose connection or overloaded circuit, which is worth tracing before it damages fittings.

  • Warm or Buzzing Outlets

Should a power point in an Islington home feel warm or buzz under load, switch it off, because heat there points to a worn contact, loose terminal or damaged cable.

  • Burning Smell Near Switches

Any burning or hot plastic smell near a Georgetown light switch means switching that circuit off at the board and calling us immediately, since melting insulation is a fire hazard.

“Great service communication n work”
Jason A.Google review
“Jason and Paul did my switchboard upgrade which wasn't a straight forward job as I wanted to integrate my new solar battery setup with automatic backup for some circuits with other circuits able to be transferred manually to backup system along with some redundancies. Jason took the time to understand what I was after and provided me with couple of options including keeping the existing box but replacing asbestos backboard and efficient layout which would have just fitted but left minimal space or replacing with larger which would give room for future expansion. I ultimately decided to do the larger box as looks a lot cleaner as then all brand new and wasn't much extra and the outcome is superb with a super clean integrated look, my componentry is laid out in a logical order and segmented in a way I had requested which allows space for various possible expansion to backup circuits, standard circuits or going to 3 phase without needing to move a bunch of components. They also did a range of standard electrical work for me with lights, DC ceiling fan, smart switches, power points using mostly components I supplied (for consistency with others already in the house) and transferring some circuits whilst conducting the level 2 works. Given the large expense I did get a couple of other quotes and while not the cheapest (very little in it though) he was the only one which I had confidence in doing my setup as I had intended. If you need electrical work done (particularly if you have some unique desired outcomes) I can honestly recommend Jason and Paul as they will listen to what you want and provide the option that works with that whilst being compliant instead of making a whole bunch of assumptions which is an issue I have had with other trades in the past.”

“Highly recommended, very professional service at a reasonable price. The technician spent the time to understand my requirements, completed additional research to be able to recommend the product that was best for my unique use case, sourced all of the parts and equipment and was able to fit this work in with short notice and a tight timeframe. Genuinely felt like above and beyond level service. Will definitely be using again in future for any electrical work I have come up around the home.”

“Called at around 8:30 for a barge switch repair came had it done in around 20 great service”
Jake L.Google review
“We recently engaged Jason from Restore for a major switchboard upgrade and Level 2 ASP work, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. While his quote wasn't the absolute lowest we received, we chose Jason because of his transparent communication and professional approach. He arrived sharp at 7:30 AM and worked tirelessly through the day to ensure every detail was perfect. The workmanship is truly top-tier—using high-quality Hager components and ensuring the entire system is 'Solar-ready' for our future plans. He was incredibly patient in answering all our technical questions and handled all the compliance paperwork seamlessly. It’s rare to find a licensed professional who is so hands-on and takes such pride in his work. If you are in the Newcastle or Hunter region and need a reliable, high-quality electrician for Level 2 or switchboard jobs, I cannot recommend Jason enough. A stellar service that is worth every cent! Xxx Nate&Amy”
